Frequently Asked Questions

What are the group sizes for each course?

Where possible we like to run courses with a minimum of 6 students as we feel that student interaction on a lot of our courses is important. However we are able to accommodate smaller groups when necessary and can also schedule dates for bespoke training for groups or companies.

Do I need to bring a model with me?

No, we can usually ensure that you have sufficient case studies for class work.

Payments - How do I pay the balance for my course?

Students can pay for courses via cheque, BACS, paypal or cash.

Are treatment couches, equipment and creams etc included in the course? Do I have to bring anything and can I buy what I need afterwards?

All equipment required to practice on during the training is supplied – however students are expected to buy their own equipment in order practice privately.

Why is your Indian Head Massage Course 4 days long?

We believe that you need to continue to receive tutor input as you train in Indian Head Massage. There are 4 modules – History & Contra-indications/Actions to IHM, Subtle Energy System, Anatomy and Physiology and Holistic Stress Management. We have been teaching this course for over 20 years and each of the topics are covered in depth during the course with additional opportunities to improve the actual quality of the treatment with tutor’s guidance and support.

How much does insurance for therapists cost?

Prices vary according to therapies you wish to incorporate – for an up to date quote you can contact a number of insurance companies who specialise in insuring complementary/beauty therapists.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development and various bodies require evidence of CPD (ongoing training) in order to continue to insure or accept membership of various regulatory bodies. For current information on CPD please see http://www.fht.org.uk/fs/s/v/cpd-guide.pdf

What are the course start and finish times?

Your tutor will always supply this information but unless otherwise stated course days usually start at 10 and finish around 4 with an hour for lunch.

Will I get plenty of practice on the course?

We believe that they only way to become proficient and confident with your skills is to practice with tutor support. We always try to ensure that students work on a wide range of clients where at all possible.

We suggest that you wear loose comfortable clothing on the course with minimum amount of jewellery. We also suggest that you bring along a cardigan or jumper.
